Why do aligners need special care?

Optimum oral hygiene’s harder to achieve in aligners. Teeth are at risk of permanent staining and decay, while gums are more prone to irritation.

It’s time to get equipped.

Clinical formulations

Science-led VITIS Orthodontic brings enamel protection, gum guardianship and tissue healing ingredients to aligner care.

Now that’s efficient!

Seating and retrieval

Aligners need seating optimally for treatment to be effective. Their snug fit means a retrieval tool can be necessary for removal.

Placement and retrieval, covered.

Keep on track

The Aligner Complete Kit maintains optimum oral health in aligners. Poor oral hygiene during aligner treatment can compromise treatment success.

Support your smile to celebrate.

No compromising

There are no high street dupes to clinical grade care. With a Healthy Smile Pharmacy Subscription there are no ifs, buts or maybes.

Clinical grade when you need it.

FAQs

Clinical grade oral hygiene and aligners need to go hand in hand, or should that be teeth in trays? We're here to answer all the questions about a clinical grade approach to aligner hygiene. Think of us as a bridge between appointments with your orthodontist.

Rinse your aligners with cool water every time you take them out. Brush them gently using a soft brush and cold or lukewarm, not hot, tap water, then treat them to a daily soak in specialised VITIS Orthodontic Effervescent Tablets. This keeps your trays crystal clear, odour-free, and ready to keep working hard for your smile!

Once your aligners are popped in, place your chewy between your upper and lower teeth. Bite down gently for 3 to 5 minutes twice a day, focusing especially on when you switch to new trays. This eliminates air gaps, seats your trays perfectly flush against your teeth, and keeps your orthodontic journey moving smoothly!

Without chewies, aligners can suffer from poor tracking, meaning they don't sit snug against your teeth and leave visible air gaps. This can stall tooth movement, drag out your treatment time, or lead to the dread of extra refinement trays. Using chewies ensures every tray delivers optimal clinical results on time.

Best to avoid it! Standard toothpastes contain abrasive particles that create microscopic scratches on clear aligners, leaving them looking cloudy and creating little hideouts for bacteria and smells. Protect your investment by using VITIS Orthodontic Effervescent Tablets.
